Our Commitment to Compliance

RoMart is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. This Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy outlines our procedures for verifying user identities and monitoring transactions to maintain a safe and compliant marketplace.

1. Regulatory Framework

Our AML/KYC program is designed in accordance with:

  • UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (MLR 2017) – Anti-money laundering requirements for financial services
  • EU Anti-Money Laundering Directives (AMLD) – European Union standards for AML compliance
  • Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) – Customer due diligence requirements for payment services
  • Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendations – International standards for combating money laundering

2. When KYC Is Required

Identity verification is required when users reach certain thresholds:

Tier 1: Basic

$0 - $2,500 lifetime volume

  • Email verification
  • Roblox account link
  • No additional documentation

Tier 2: Enhanced

$2,500 - $10,000 lifetime volume

  • Government-issued ID
  • Selfie verification
  • Full name and date of birth

Tier 3: Full KYC

$10,000+ lifetime volume

  • All Tier 2 requirements
  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement)
  • Source of funds declaration

Additional Triggers

May trigger review at any time:

  • Suspicious transaction patterns
  • High-risk country indicators
  • Multiple failed payments
  • Fraud alerts from processors

Important Notice

We reserve the right to request identity verification at any time, regardless of transaction volume, if we detect suspicious activity or have compliance concerns.

3. Accepted Documents

3.1 Identity Documents

We accept the following government-issued identification:

  • Passport (preferred)
  • National ID card
  • Driver's license
  • Residence permit

Documents must be valid (not expired), clearly visible, and show your full name, photo, and date of birth.

3.2 Proof of Address

Accepted documents (must be dated within the last 3 months):

  • Utility bill (electricity, water, gas, internet)
  • Bank or credit card statement
  • Government correspondence (tax notice, benefits letter)
  • Lease agreement or mortgage statement

3.3 Source of Funds

For high-volume users, we may request documentation proving the legitimate source of funds:

  • Pay stubs or employment contract
  • Bank statements showing salary deposits
  • Business income documentation
  • Investment or inheritance documentation

4. Verification Process

Our KYC verification process works as follows:

  1. Request Triggered: You'll receive an email notification when verification is required
  2. Document Submission: Upload clear photos or scans of required documents through your account dashboard
  3. Selfie Verification: Take a selfie holding your ID document (liveness check)
  4. Review: Our compliance team reviews your submission within 24-72 hours
  5. Outcome: You'll receive notification of approval or a request for additional information

During Verification

While your verification is pending, you may continue to use the platform with limited functionality. Withdrawals may be temporarily restricted until verification is complete.

5. Transaction Monitoring

We continuously monitor transactions for suspicious activity, including:

  • Unusual patterns: Rapid buying and selling, circular transactions, structuring to avoid thresholds
  • High-risk indicators: Transactions with known scam addresses, multiple accounts, identity mismatches
  • Velocity checks: Abnormally high transaction frequency or volume
  • Geographic risks: Transactions involving sanctioned countries or high-risk jurisdictions
  • Item-specific risks: Trading of known "poisoned" or stolen items

Transactions flagged by our monitoring systems may be held for manual review, delayed, or reported to relevant authorities.

6. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination:

  • Using the platform for money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Providing false or fraudulent identification documents
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent KYC requirements
  • Using the platform from sanctioned countries
  • Processing transactions on behalf of third parties without disclosure
  • Structuring transactions to avoid reporting thresholds
  • Using stolen payment methods or cryptocurrency
  • Trading stolen or "poisoned" Roblox items

7. Sanctioned Countries

We cannot provide services to users in countries subject to comprehensive sanctions. This includes, but is not limited to:

North Korea
Iran
Syria
Cuba
Crimea Region
Russia
Belarus
Myanmar

This list may be updated based on changes to international sanctions regimes. Users attempting to access the platform from sanctioned regions will be blocked.

8. Reporting Obligations

In accordance with applicable law, we may be required to:

  • File Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs): Report suspicious transactions to relevant Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs)
  • Comply with law enforcement: Respond to valid legal requests, court orders, and subpoenas
  • Freeze accounts: Suspend accounts and funds when required by law or during investigations
  • Maintain records: Keep transaction records for a minimum of 5 years as required by regulations

We are prohibited from informing users when a SAR has been filed about their activity ("tipping off").

9. Data Protection

Your KYC information is handled with strict security measures:

Encryption

All documents encrypted at rest using AES-256

Access Control

Limited to authorized compliance personnel only

Retention

Documents retained for 5 years per MLR 2017

Deletion

Securely deleted after retention period expires

10. User Cooperation

By using RoMart, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration and verification
  • Promptly respond to requests for additional documentation
  • Notify us immediately if any of your submitted information changes
  • Cooperate with investigations related to your account or transactions
  • Not assist others in circumventing KYC requirements

Failure to cooperate with verification requests may result in account suspension, transaction holds, or permanent account termination.

11. Appeals Process

If your verification is rejected or your account is restricted:

  1. Review the rejection reason provided in your notification email
  2. Gather any additional documentation that may address the concern
  3. Contact our compliance team at compliance@romarket.gg
  4. Include your username, the issue, and any supporting documents
  5. Allow 5-7 business days for review of your appeal
